The American Association for the Advancement of Science has announced the finalists for their 2013 book awards, and How To Raise Monarch Butterflies:  A Step-by-Step Guide for Kids is up for the Hands-on Science Award. This is awarded to a book which “promotes science literacy by showcasing the importance of good science writing that promotes inquiry and hands-on learning.” You can see the full judging criteria and list of nominees at the link above.
